Melting Pot Improvised Music Event
Korhan Erel and Umut Çağlar, two members of the Turkish improvised music scene, will bring together during the 2009-2010 season under the title „Melting Pot“ performers and composers from Istanbul, who have various backgrounds, as well as from abroad, who are improvisers engaged in contemporary music, with the contributions of Teoman Madra, reknown for his works blending digital music and contemporary music. Improsed and contemporary music concerts which will be organised every month, will bring together under the same roof visual arts, dance and music which have always been feeding one another aesthetically and conceptually. The first of these concerts series will be realised within the scope of the 1st Istanbul Artist Initiatives Meeting on Saturday October 3rd from 4pm to 6pm at Istanbul 2010 Art Production Center, Kadırga. During this event Konstruct who will perform this year at Akbank Jazz Festival and Islak Köpek (Wet Dog), who participated to the same festival in the past, as well as to several local and foreign organisations, will give one concert each.
